Fraser suites Edinburgh required all their timber sash and case windows in the period property fully refurbished and brought up to modern standard.
The timber sash windows in the historic Edinburgh building have not seen many repairs over the years. Therefore, a large amount of the windows have gone under utilised or some were completely out of action. There has also been a large amount of degradation into the poorly painted timber. Approved Fineo installers, Edinburgh Windows & Doors, expertly removed the sashes and fully stripped the paint to expose the old hardwood timbers. They used repair care resin to seal any joints and ensure the repairs will last for more than fifty years.
A huge part of the project was to increase the thermal efficiency of the timber sash and case windows. In order to achieve this, and also comply with Edinburgh conservation laws, the expert installers fully draught-proofed and retrofitted Fineo vacuum glazing to the existing frames. Fineo provides better thermal insulation (U-values) than triple glazing. It also made a big impact on the acoustic insulation of the property. Fineo has made a massive difference to the warmth and comfort of the historic building.
